How many kinds of sound absorption materials do you know？And what are advantages and disadvantages of them?
Here I list some general materials for your reference.
- Wooden sound-absorbing materials:
Advantages: it has good sound absorption effect. NRC is 0.9,
Disadvantages: it is not a recycle material. It’s heavy and difficult to install.
- Fiberglass sound-absorbing materials:
Advantages: it has good sound absorption effect and it’s also fire retardant.
Disadvantages: It’s not Eco-friendly, and it’s harmful to human’s health. It cannot be used as exposed surface, and need covering materials, which will increase the cost. It may weathered as powder in the air and have the risk of being breathed by humans.
